At a session held on April 20, the Republic Election Commission (RIK) completed and proclaimed the official list of parties, coalitions and independent candidates running for election into the 250-seat People’s Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Serbia. The BKV Fund was formally established in 2010 to honor the memory of Biljana Kovačević-Vučo, a leading human rights defender in Serbia, and to further the causes to which she was committed. The Fund has established the annual Biljana Kovačević-Vučo Award for Human Rights Defenders, which is the foundation of our work in the sphere of human rights, and leads a number of projects that, in partnership with others, seek to research and disseminate accurate information about past and current issues relating to transition –including transitional justice, confrontation of the past, and transparency- in Serbia, with a view to promoting public debate and strengthening citizen participation in the political process and oversight of government.
